Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you like my new look, I needed a change from black. Here you can share my miniature endeavours, perhaps be inspired by some of my photographs taken in France and of 'real world' treasures that can be made in miniature. My love of parterre-style gardens and study of horticulture made my decision for the theme of my little shop an easy one. I just hope I can successfully interpret my ideas in 1/12th scale!

Going Upmarket

Hi everyone, Long time no post. This is the latest chair I have been working on, based on a Bespaq chair I purchased. There was much indecision about what fabric to re-cover it with and I finally chose this silk I printed a while ago. I wanted the chair to look somewhat aged but with the silk remaining in good condition.
What do you think?
I may work on another chair with similar upholstery and maybe even a settee, then I think I will go back to the more contemporary look of linens for a while.
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend, we are about to head out to the beach to see the surf, should be impressive as it is quite windy here, though still warm.
A bientot!

  1. the chair looks great, did you have to tease me with sun and surfing, its cold and damp here x

  2. Ce fauteuil est superbe et le tissus parfait mais est-ce du 1/12 ou du 1/1?

  3. Sorry Debbie but it was lovely at the beach though the water was really cold still, and thanks for the compliment. Jean-Claude it is 1/12, I would love one like that in RL.
And Merci Genevieve, glad you like it.

  4. Oooohh, the chair is Gorgeous!!! I have a weakness for ornate things.... this is a real beauty!

  5. Una tapicería magnífica,me encanta el diseño de la seda!!!

  6. Very pretty! Personally I much prefer the traditional fabric to something like linen, but we are all different! Regardless, I imagine it will be beautiful. I really love the painted wood finish.

  7. Margaret, this chair is gorgeous, nice work :D!!
Oh, I wish I could ever have such a chair for the salon of my big canal house in the future....
    Hugs, Ilona
