Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you like my new look, I needed a change from black. Here you can share my miniature endeavours, perhaps be inspired by some of my photographs taken in France and of 'real world' treasures that can be made in miniature. My love of parterre-style gardens and study of horticulture made my decision for the theme of my little shop an easy one. I just hope I can successfully interpret my ideas in 1/12th scale!

Time for Bed

Having admired canopy beds for so long, I finally, after many adjustments and re-starts, completed a canopy for my little bed. This one is dressed with silk, vintage rayon and old laces and trims, and is more 'dressy' than usual. I think the dressed table would go nicely with it. I am running out of the tassell trim which I bought at a doll show a couple of years ago, don't know if I can get more.
I would really enjoy making a bedroom roombox with a bed like this, but that would be an ongoing project, verrry ongoing, lol.
Hope everyone is doing well, haven't been around on blogger for some time (is it really that long? where does the time go). I am inspired to do some things for Christmas, so had better get cracking!
A bientot!

  1. Very pretty bedding and wonderful canopy! The tassel trim is very special, I don't think I have ever seen it in such a small size. I hope you will find some more of it.
As for not being around on blogger, I fear many of us have suffered from that ;-)

  2. Ohhh...so pretty! Love how it drapes. And the bobble trim is so cute. Hobby Lobby has some bobble trim similar to that, you might try their website.

  3. Hi Margaret. There are lace sellers on Etsy that sell that type of lace. I found this similar one: https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/175053189/lovely-white-venice-lace-tassels-lace?ga_search_query=White&ref=shop_items_search_36

  6. Both my minis and I would LOVE to sleep in a bed like that. The table tops make the scene look "lived in." The background makes it even more cozy.

  7. So once to see your post.. The bed is lovely and it would be wonderful to see it as the focus piece of a bedroom roombox. No need to hurry such a project.
