Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you like my new look, I needed a change from black. Here you can share my miniature endeavours, perhaps be inspired by some of my photographs taken in France and of 'real world' treasures that can be made in miniature. My love of parterre-style gardens and study of horticulture made my decision for the theme of my little shop an easy one. I just hope I can successfully interpret my ideas in 1/12th scale!

Caterina's Holiday Swap

This is where Janne http://jannelandet.blogspot.com will be coming to for her shopping spree holiday, beautiful Sydney, Australia. I think she believes she is going to Japan, I hope she doesn't get lost. This is one of the shopping centres she will visit in the heart of the city.

It is a stunning shopping centre created within a historic building, the Queen Victoria Building which was completed in 1898 as a monument to Queen Victoria. It was threatened with demolition in the 1950s but survived to be restored to its former glory. It takes up one entire city block and has many great boutiques and coffe shops.

I will be going on holiday with Nina http://minimumm.blogspot.com and can't wait to find out where we are headed.

I must get working on my surprise for Janne, some others have already completed theirs!

  2. Margaret,

dort im Victoria Building gibt es tolle und sehr schicke Sachen. Da war ich auch schon... und mein Geldbeutel hatte danach stark gelitten. Viel Spaß wünsche ich Dir.

  3. I like the idea of a shopping holiday, but will have to be satisfied with an imaginary one at the moment.
Monika, good to hear you have visited Sydney, it is a while since I have been to the QVB, I will have to go there in the real world before too long, for a little window shopping.

  9. Hi Margaret,
I am so glad you visited me on my blog and thank you so much for the nice comments on my babies. Yes my favorite is Amanda too. I sculpted her from a picture of my daughter when she was a newborn. I just love the little 5 inch to 8 inch dolls. They are my favorite to make because you can dress them up in cute outfits and if you get tired of that outfit you can dress them in another. I am working on the miniature babies too. They are a bit harder to make but turn out so sweet. Come back and visit me anytime. I have enjoyed looking at you blog it is beautiful.

  11. It is hard to believe such magnificience as the Queen Victoria Building was left covered and unloved for so long. It is always a must for us when we come to Sydney. :) Luna Park is the other. Coney Island is a place out of time, yet enjoyed by my children as much as me when I was a child and my parents before me.
